Welcome
Steve Banks Outdoors offers BCU courses, sea kayak expeditions, BCA cave leader courses and bespoke outdoor activity provision in Cumbria, the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and Scotland. The company is based near Keswick and is run by Steve Banks, one of the UK's most experienced and qualified outdoor activity providers.

Specialising in BCU training and assessment courses in all three main disciplines at all levels, as well as the Coaching Processes course, Steve is one of the busiest BCU course providers in the UK.
Steve is also one of the most active BCA local cave leader training and assessment course providers, he offers both level 1 and level 2 courses.
As well as national governing body provision Steve runs sea kayaking and canoe trips to some of the wildest and most beautiful corners of Britain and provides bespoke opportunities in all outdoor activities at all levels to suit everyone's adventure ambitions and experience.
He also runs summer and winter mountaineering courses and offers professional qualification support in these activities, as well as dedicated environmental courses for those interested in natural history and landscape. Although the majority of expeditions and courses are based in the UK, the programme includes several special excursions to continental Europe and further afield each year.
All expeditions and courses operate in line with the Steve Banks Outdoors philosophy; a holistic and personalised approach to experience and learning that will fully engage you mentally and physically.
Steve is always happy to discuss and advise on any aspect of outdoor and environmental activities. So, whether you're interested in a day out ‘joyriding’ in a high-performance racing dinghy, a week studying ecology on the Isle of Rum, a fortnight caving in France, or a stunning, self-sufficient journey by sea kayak, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
